Rangitoto College is a high-performing school that aims to give every student the opportunity to thrive and excel. We do this by establishing and maintaining optimal conditions for learning, utilising a Knowledge Rich Curriculum and Mātauranga Māori, and enacting research-informed Teaching Principles. In addition to NCEA, the college also offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma and there is the potential for the right candidate to teach a class within this programme.
Contract and remuneration will be in accordance with the Secondary Teachers' collective agreement (CA) https://www.education.govt.nz/school/people-and-employment/employment-agreements/collective-agreements/ as assessed by the Salary Assessment Unit of the Ministry of Education. Annual remuneration is dependent on service and qualifications, starting rate of $64,119.00, and a top rate of $107,886.00. Your hours of work will be as set out in the CA and the timetabling policy of Rangitoto College.
While we welcome applications across all learning areas, we have a particular interest in connecting with teachers in P.E. Soc Sci, Maths, Science, English, Technology.
What you need to bring:
- Current registration (or eligibility) with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand.
- A student-centred teaching philosophy and strong New Zealand curriculum knowledge.
- The ability to build positive, restorative relationships with students, staff, and whānau.
- A willingness to contribute to the wider life of our school community.
