Curriculum Leader of Dance (2MU) - commencimg Term 1 2026
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced teacher to lead the subject of DANCE (Full-time, permanent, start Term 1 2026) in the Performing Arts Department (Teacher in Charge of Dance). The ability to potentially also teach Drama and/or Music could be an advantage. This is a great opportunity to become part of our excellent Performing Arts leadership team, in a school with an outstanding reputation for the Performing Arts. You would be joining a supportive and extremely well-resourced department that strives for excellence in both curriculum and co-curricular ensembles.
The successful applicant will have had experience with NCEA and the qualifications framework and be a confident Dance teacher. They will possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to lead the Dance curriculum, including NCEA Level 3 and Scholarship Dance. The successful applicant will take responsibility for the curricular and co-curricular side of Dance.
Please state all relevant experience in Dance and the performing arts, including any areas of specialism.
Contract and remuneration will be in accordance with the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement (CA) https://www.education.govt.nz/school/people-and-employment/employment-agreements/collective-agreements/. as assessed by the Salary Assessment Unit of the Ministry of Education. Annual remuneration is dependent on service and qualifications, between $61,329.00 - $103,086.00 per annum plus allowances as above. Hours of work will be as set out in the STCA.
All staff are expected to contribute towards our extracurricular programme.
