Design Technology Teacher 2025, Term 2 Start

Rangitoto College is in search of a dedicated, innovative Technology teacher to join our dynamic and evolving Design Technology department. We are looking for an educator who is committed to upholding the highest standards of teaching and learning. We welcome both experienced teachers and beginning teachers looking to establish their careers in a well-supported environment with our bespoke mentoring programme for provisionally certified teachers. 

Rangitoto College has just been approved for the construction of a new innovative learning centre to house all Design Technologies. Construction expected to begin in 2025.

This is a Full-time Permanent position starting Term 2 2025. Visits to the school are welcomed via appointment. Rangitoto College has seen an increase in growth allowing for a variety of promotion opportunities within Curriculum Leadership, Kāhui Ako spaces. 

The successful applicant should be someone with a genuine passion for emerging technologies like CAD and CAM. Our department is well-equipped with 3D printing, CNC routing, laser cutting, and extensive workshops and design studios to accommodate a broad spectrum of student projects. Experience in teaching vocational subjects such as construction or engineering is also an advantage.

The successful applicant will also:

  • Have a teaching diploma and be a registered teacher.
  • have experience with/ or knowledge of the NCEA and the qualifications framework.
  • Be legally allowed to work in New Zealand.
  • Have a collaborative and constructive work style.

Contract and remuneration will be in accordance with the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement (CA) https://www.education.govt.nz/school/people-and-employment/employment-agreements/collective-agreements/. As assessed by the Salary Assessment Unit of the Ministry of Education. Annual remuneration is dependent on service and qualifications, starting rate of $61,329.00 and top rate of $103,086.00. Hours of work will be as set out in the STCA.

New graduate teachers may be eligible for a pre-tax payment of $10,500 through the Voluntary Bonding Scheme, subject to conditions.
