Librarian - 21 hours per week (term time only, part time, fixed term)
Rangitoto College seeks a Librarian (part time fixed term) with a broad knowledge and understanding of a library and its purpose within an educational environment. Our library supports staff and students with the curriculum, literacy, and information literacy. We are looking for a person who has a vision of how a modern library will develop to meet future learning needs. This is a 21 hour per week (term time only) position 9:30 to 5:00pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The job will commence in term 2 or by negotiation and will end on 4 December 2026 with possibility of extension.
We require a person who has:
- Experience working with and relates well to teenagers
- A Library qualification or Library experience
- Oliver LMS experience
- Social media and IT skills including Canva, Instagram and other Library database systems
- An interest in the development of AI
- Excellent communication skills
- Exceptional organisational skills
- Initiative
- The ability to manage change
- Read a wide range of fiction, particularly Young Adult fiction
- Support the development of information literacy
- Work well as part of a team
- Work with and train student librarians
