2iC Mathematics / Assistant Head of Department (3MU) - commencing T1 2027
Rangitoto College is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and experienced educational leader to join our vibrant Mathematics and Statistics Department as 2iC (Assistant Head of Department).

- Units: 3MU (2MU for 11 Maths leadership and 1MU for 2iC)
A key focus of this position includes lead responsibility for the Year 11 Mathematics curriculum, guiding staff and students through this critical foundational year. Working collaboratively alongside the Head of Department, you will help lead teaching and learning, foster high-performing curriculum pathways, and mentor teaching staff across Years 9–13.
The successful applicant will have a proven track record of strong classroom practice, a deep understanding of NCEA assessment, and the ability to inspire both colleagues and students to achieve outstanding outcomes. Experience with advanced pathways (such as IB Diploma or Scholarship) is advantageous but not essential.

Requirements:
- NZ Registered Teacher
- Strong pedagogical knowledge in Mathematics and Statistics
- Proven leadership and organisational skills
Contract and remuneration will be in accordance with the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement (STCA) https://www.education.govt.nz/school/people-and-employment/employment-agreements/collective-agreements/secondary-teachers-collective-agreement as assessed by the Salary Assessment Unit of the Ministry of Education. Annual remuneration is dependent on service and qualifications, starting rate of $64,119.00 and top rate of $107,886.00. Hours of work will be as set out in the STCA.
