Administration Manager



Ko Taku Reo Deaf Education New Zealand is a nationwide school that works to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing students and their whanau from pre-school through to 21 years of age. We have a team of over 300 specialist staff across New Zealand with specialist school provisions in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch which are located in mainstream schools. You will be joining a close-knit team and you will share their passion and enthusiasm for delivering high quality education and services to Deaf community and whanau.


This newly established permanent full-time role based at our campus in Sumner and will lead a small team of administrators, who are based, throughout NZ. This role will also support senior managers in our Corporate Services Team (Finance, Human Resources, Property, and Projects).


To be successful in this role you will have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in an administration role in a complex organisation;
  • Experience leading a team of administrators;
  • Experience in providing administration support to senior leaders;
  • Strong understanding of good process and procedures and ability to implement change in a collaborative manner; and
  • An understanding of administration in a school environment is preferred.

You will be a person of high integrity, able to work in confidence and have a high degree accuracy and attention to detail in all that you do. You will have an exceptional ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and of course have excellent communication and diplomacy skills.

If required, we will support you to develop an awareness of Deaf Culture and the Deaf community. Proficiency in New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) is preferred, however, if you don’t have this a willingness to learn NZSL is essential.
