Art Teacher (LTR) - commencing Term 1, 2027

Rangitoto College invites applications for a full time LTR position as an Art Teacher in the Visual Arts Department to cover for maternity leave, commencing Term 1 through to the end of Term 4 2027. Design specialist preferred, with the ability to teach to Level 3 Design and NCEA Scholarship Design. Please state other media or subject expertise.

We seek an innovative and enthusiastic teacher who has a deep interest in the visual arts and the creative industries, as well as in pedagogy. The department is collegial, collaborative, creative, and successful, with passionate teachers who specialise in a range of media. Large (for an art department), we consider our diversity to be our strength. The right candidate will be well-versed in use of the Adobe Suite, with the capacity to teach in a creative digital environment.

Teachers at the college are expected to contribute to the extensive co-curricular life of the school.

Contract and remuneration will be in accordance with the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement (STCA) https://www.education.govt.nz/school/people-and-employment/employment-agreements/collective-agreements/secondary-teachers-collective-agreement as assessed by the Salary Assessment Unit of the Ministry of Education. Annual remuneration is dependent on service and qualifications, starting rate of $64,119.00 and top rate of $107,886.00. Hours of work will be as set out in the STCA.
