Boarding Supervisor - Acland House (Term-time only)

Christchurch Girls’ High School | Te Kura o Hine Waiorais a leading state day and boarding school for Years 9-13 students, located in the heart of Christchurch City by Hagley Park.

We have an exciting opportunity for a responsible, reliable and enthusiastic person to join the Boarding Team at Acland House, as a boarding supervisor, to assist with the pastoral care and educational needs of all boarders.

The role is pivotal in shaping the students’ experiences of boarding life and requires a caring, empathetic and proactive approach to the safety and welfare of the students ensuring that they are supported physically and emotionally. The role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people to reach their potential and helping to create a safe, friendly, inclusive and nurturing environment where all students can thrive.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be patient, flexible, show initiative, understanding, discretion and sensitivity to individual boarders’ needs and have the ability to manage groups of students confidently and consistently, and deal with all situations with patience, care and professionalism. You will have the ability to organise activities for students, the enthusiasm to engage them and a willingness to support them with their prep.

This is a permanent, term-time only position of 40 hours per week involving afternoon/evening work and could include weekend work across the 7 days termly roster, as required and negotiated with the Director of Boarding to meet the operational needs of the Boarding House.

Applicants to have a current First Aid Certificate and a current full clean driver’s license.

The start date for this position is early January 2026, but this can be negotiated.
