Careers Assistant
About the role
We are looking for someone with an administrative background who can engage with multiple stakeholders including students, employers and tertiary education providers.
This role requires a high level of coordination between different providers - meaning organisation skills and attention to detail are crucial alongside computer literacy. A high level of initiative and an ability to self manage is essential. This role is permanent full time (37.5 hours per week, 8.00am - 4.00pm) during school term time only.

Qualifications & experience
- Administration experience required
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- Data Entry experience and attention to detail
- Experience with Google Office (or MS Office) suite, particularly Sheets/Excel and Docs/Word
- Experience working with wide range of stakeholders including children/youth
- Event planning and coordination advantageous
Tasks & responsibilities
- Complete key administration tasks associated with the student Gateway courses
- Assist Careers Team with organisation of work placements and tracking students’ attendance
- Order and procure teaching and learning materials, including courses
- Transport and trip coordination, including liaising with student, caregivers and external agencies
- Effectively communicating with external education providers
- Assisting with the administration of Year 13 and leaver course applications, references, CVs, scholarship applications etc.
- Assist with coordinating special prizes and awards for senior students
- Assist with organising and facilitating the Careers education initiatives
- Advertise any job/internship opportunities to students via internal school communications
- Assist with the Careers sections of key school publications - School Magazine, Course Options site, Careers Website (Careerwise and Career Central) etc.
Applicants must have working rights in New Zealand.
Pay rate will be as per the Support Staff in Schools' Collective Agreement and will be at Grade 3, Step 8, $31.41 per hour.
