Ko Taku Reo is Aotearoa’s national education provider for Deaf and Hard of Hearing ākonga. We deliver inclusive, bilingual (NZSL and English) learning that reflects our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Deaf culture.
THE ROLE / TE MAHI
We are looking for a highly skilled educator to lead the design and delivery of curriculum resources that support quality teaching and learning across our service. As Curriculum Resource Lead, you’ll collaborate with educators and leaders to embed the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum, develop effective teaching resources and model evidence-based practice.
You’ll be instrumental in shaping resources that meet the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners, aligning with our local curriculum and national priorities. This includes adapting Ministry resources, creating exemplars and supporting professional development through a coaching and co-teaching approach.
ABOUT YOU / MŌ KOE
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Teaching and Learning and extensive knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum
- Current teaching experience and a passion for improving learner outcomes
- Strong digital literacy and ability to work across platforms like Office 365, Te Rito, Compass, and Teamwork Projects
- Excellent communication, planning and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects with proven experience
- A commitment to Deaf culture, bilingual-bicultural education and inclusive practice
Desirable:
- Proficiency in NZSL or willingness to learn
- Experience in Deaf or Special Education
