Rangiora High School is a large co-educational state school situated 30 minutes north from Christchurch. 

Due to a promotion to Principalship, we are seeking a motivated leader, with strengths in organisational cultural change and inspiring people to be the best they can be.  This is an exciting opportunity to take a key role in developing your leadership with the intent to one day become a principal of your own school.

The successful applicant will: 

  • Be a visionary leader who gives effect to the New Zealand Curriculum in ways that best meet student needs, that are inclusive, equitable and relevant with clear pathways to future learning, training and employment.

  • Embrace and lead change while nurturing and upholding the school’s values, culture and commitment to educational excellence. 
  • Be an open and honest communicator who has a genuine liking for young people and will build positive relationships with staff, whānau and the wider community. 
  • Have a strong commitment to restorative practice and culturally responsive approaches. 
  • Have a deep understanding of Te Ao Māori.
  • Have a strong desire to further their career into principalship.
