Based in Albany, Kristin School is an independent, co-educational, non-denominational school with more than 1800 students from Early Learning to Year 13. Our special character school was founded by parents more than 50 years ago. Guided by strong values of progress, vision, integrity and love, our environment supports all staff with excellent resources and facilities.

Kristin holds three musical theatre productions each year for the Senior, Middle and Junior schools. Its reputation boasts high-calibre productions that attract many talented students in musical theatre. With the current Artistic Director moving into the industry, we are seeking an experienced director for our Middle School (Years 7 to 10) and Junior School (Kindergarten to Year 6) 2025 productions. While this role is fixed term, it has the potential to evolve into a permanent role the following year. Rehearsals are mostly after school and on Sundays, with some team collaboration required within school hours.

The focus will be to deliver high-quality safe productions, including on-stage performance, staging, lighting, sound and costumes. You will be supported by an experienced team of music, dance, technical and production staff, and enjoy utilising our outstanding school facilities.

The successful person will be:

  • Experienced in directing musical theatre, youth theatre, performing arts education or professional theatre contexts
  • Passionate about engaging with students and their families
  • Committed to deliver outstanding productions
  • Flexible and adaptable to run rehearsals after school and on Sundays
  • Committed to providing rich performing arts education for our learners.
