ESOL Teacher - commencing in T2 or T3 by negotiation


Rangitoto College is seeking an enthusiastic, warm, and demanding teacher of New Zealand Curriculum (NZC) English in an ESOL context to join our highly successful and collegial department. Commencement is by negotiation for term 2 or 3, 2026.

 

Experience and knowledge of the English Language Learning Progressions (ELLP) and experience teaching in the NZC is essential. Please state experience and knowledge in any of the following as well:

  • preparing students for NCEA English assessments;
  • teaching in the IB Diploma Programme (English A or English B);
  • preparing students for any level of EL unit standards;
  • course design for the secondary NZC English Learning Area.

Contract and remuneration will be in accordance with the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement (STCA) https://www.education.govt.nz/school/people-and-employment/employment-agreements/collective-agreements/ as assessed by the Salary Assessment Unit of the Ministry of Education. Annual remuneration is dependent on service and qualifications, starting at $62,862.00 and with a top rate of $105,686.00. Hours of work will be as set out in the STCA.
