Head of Faculty English (4MU + 1 MMA)
Long Bay College is a co-educational secondary school located in a peaceful location near Long Bay Beach and the new Long Bay Village. The school opened in 1975 and has approximately 1800 students with 150 teaching and support staff combined.
We seek an outstanding leader for our Faculty of English. Our ideal candidate will have evident strengths as a classroom teacher and in curriculum design. They will be a leader who places high value on knowledge rich approaches and cognitive science considerate pedagogy with the capability to drive the professional growth of the wider team individually and collectively.
As a kura we offer English Scholarship, English and English Literacy pathways. We place a strong emphasis on high academic achievement secured by strong collective practice. Our Junior English programme is a knowledge and skills rich foundation for our NCEA co-requisite, senior courses and NZQA Scholarship.

The terms and conditions, including base salary and hours of work, for this position is set by the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $61,329 to $103,086, depending on applicant's qualifications and experience. An individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
