HOD Health and Physical Education

The position of HOD of Health and Physical Education is an exciting opportunity for a leader to grow and thrive in a supportive, inclusive and dynamic environment. You will have high expectations of yourself and an appetite for challenge and for continuing to develop your leadership. 

Ideally, you will have leadership experience in the secondary sector demonstrating:

  • The ability to lead a dynamic and high functioning team, creating positive and productive relationships with students, colleagues, whānau, and the wider school ecosystem
  • The ability to plan and prioritise tasks, have a high attention to detail, and be principled yet agile
  • The ability to see and create opportunities to make continual improvements, both organisational/structural and personal

 

The successful candidate will be well-informed about the upcoming curriculum and assessment changes and ready to lead the department in incorporating this into the high-quality learning environment within Health and Physical Education.

As well as running a top-performing HPE Scholarship programme, we have a range of Health and PE courses, including Sports Science and Outdoor Education.

 

This is a full-time permanent position, beginning 2027.
