ABOUT US / MŌ MĀTOU
At Ko Taku Reo we work to provide teaching support and resources to help New Zealand’s Deaf and hard of hearing children reach their academic potential as well as nurture their social and emotional wellbeing and help them form their own identity. You will be joining a nationwide team and you will share their passion and enthusiasm for delivering high quality education and services to the Deaf and hard of hearing students and their whānau we support.
THE ROLE / TE MAHI
In this part-time, Christchurch based role, the In-Reach Co-ordinator is responsible for the accurate and timely co-ordination of all in-reach courses in Christchurch. These include immersion courses, assessment visits, pre-school courses, or any other in-reach that is planned by the Teaching and Learning area of the school.
ABOUT YOU / MŌ KOE
Our ideal candidate
will be a proactive, positive, and results-oriented person able to deliver a
high level of planning and administration support. The ability to carefully
plan, organise and co-ordinate across many areas of the school is vital. A strong understanding of health and safety
will be essential to ensure the safety of the students and their families while
receiving in-reach.
An affinity with and understanding of Deaf culture and NZSL proficiency would be preferred as strong communication skills will be essential to this role.
YOU WILL HAVE / KEI A KOE
- Proven experience in a similar senior co-ordination and administration role, with experience in Education an advantage
- An approachable and inclusive demeanour
- The ability to understand the demands of a fast-paced and changing organisation
- Strong understanding of communicator requirements in a diverse organisation
- Proven ability to liaise and maintain relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other office productivity tools, with aptitude to learn new software and systems
