National Outreach Leader


At Ko Taku Reo we work to nurture the social and emotional wellbeing of New Zealand’s Deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) children and help them form their own identity; as well as providing support and resources to help them reach their academic potential.


Come and join our Leadership Team of Ko Taku Reo’s Outreach School.  The National Outreach Leader is a leadership position that supports the Head of Outreach School, collaboratively leading teams to strengthen best practice in the Outreach School service.  The Outreach School comprises of nearly 150 teachers nationwide and provides direct teaching and indirect services to approximately 2800 DHH children, aged 3-21 years, in mainstream schools.  


We are seeking a dynamic, future focused fully registered teacher/school leader who has a thorough understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum, leadership experience, be willing to implement evidence-based practices for the inclusion of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students and proven culturally responsive practices.  You must have demonstrated extensive leadership within your current teaching role at senior leadership level.  Ideally you have completed a Special Education Post Graduate Diploma, but this is not essential. This role is based in Auckland, will require national travel and has a 0.4 FTE RTD caseload teaching component.
