NZSL Expert Kaiarahi/Coach
Ko Taku Reo is excited to offer a unique opportunity for two passionate and skilled individuals to join us in the role of NZSL Expert Kaiarahi.
Whether you’re a teacher or non-teacher, if you’re someone who has a deep understanding of NZSL and a passion for language access and learning, this could be the perfect next step in your journey.
THE ROLE / TE MAHI
In this role, you’ll support staff across the organisation to build their confidence and capability in using NZSL effectively in their daily practice. You'll lead professional learning, create engaging resources and model quality NZSL communication strategies that align with our bilingual vision.
You’ll be part of the Pedagogy and PLD team and work collaboratively to deliver on the NZSL/Deaf BiBi PLD contract.
ABOUT YOU / MŌ KOE
- Have strong NZSL skills and experience teaching or modelling NZSL with adults
- Are confident using adult learning approaches and a coaching mindset
- Can collaborate across roles and functions – from classrooms to support services
- Are digitally fluent and comfortable creating high-quality teaching resources
- Are flexible, organised and able to travel to work across our sites
- Are passionate about promoting NZSL across all areas of Ko Taku Reo
You can be based in Auckland or Christchurch – but you’ll need to be available for national travel as needed to support teams in different locations.
