WHAT YOU WILL DO / TE MAHI
As our NZSL@School Support Advisor you will have a passion for seeing Deaf/HH ākonga reach their potential with the support of NZSL@School related resources. This role deals with many-layered complexities and working alongside a number of stakeholders to ensure DHH ākonga and their support teams receive the most appropriate NZSL resources. You will empower local teams to take on the responsibility of providing and delivering the curriculum through NZSL at their local schools.
You will have had experience and a track record of being highly relational and proactive in supporting school teams to find creative and responsive approaches to meet the needs of children and young people. The NZSL@School Support Advisor will need to have comprehensive knowledge of the roles of both local and national resources available to support DHH ākonga in accessing the curriculum through NZSL.
This role is a permanent fulltime role and has a teaching component. There is some flexibility where the role is based. Current teacher registration is required. Please detail in your covering letter your proven literacy strengths and your proven experience working with external stakeholders e.g. AODC's, SENCO's and Learning Support Co-ordinators.
