ABOUT US / MŌ MĀTOU
At Ko Taku Reo we work to nurture the social and emotional wellbeing of New Zealand’s Deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) children and help them form their own identity; as well as providing support and resources to help them reach their academic potential.
THE ROLE / TE MAHI
Come and join our new team of nationwide Regional Co-ordinators who make up the Leadership team of Ko Taku Reo Outreach School. Our Resource Teachers of the Deaf in the Central North Island region of Waikato, BOP and Hawkes Bay, provide direct teaching and indirect services to 320 Deaf and Hard of hearing children, aged 3-21 years, in mainstream schools.
ABOUT YOU /
We are seeking a dynamic, future focused fully registered teacher/school leader who has a thorough understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum, leadership experience, evidence-based practices for the inclusion of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students and proven culturally responsive practices. You will lead a team comprising of five team leaders and 30+ RTDs and report to the Head of Outreach School. Ideally you have completed a Special Education Post Graduate Diploma, but this is not essential. It would be preferable that you are able to be based at either our Tauranga or Hamilton office, but for the right person we could be flexible. However, you will need to reside in one of the regional locations listed in this role.
