ABOUT US / MŌ MĀTOU
At Ko Taku Reo we work to nurture the social and emotional wellbeing of New
Zealand’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) children and help them form their own
identity; as well as providing support and resources to help them reach their
academic potential.
THE ROLE / TE MAHI
Come and join our team of nationwide Regional Leaders who make up the Leadership Team of Ko Taku Reo Outreach School. Our Resource Teachers of the Deaf in the Capital region provide services to over 600 DHH students – approximately 200 on Direct service and 440 on Indirect services, aged 3-21 years, in mainstream schools.
ABOUT YOU / MŌ KOE
We are seeking a dynamic, future focused fully registered teacher/school leader who has a thorough understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum, leadership experience, evidence-based practices for the inclusion of DHH students and proven culturally responsive practices. You must be able to demonstrate substantial leadership within your current teaching role at middle or senior leadership level, as you will be leading a region comprising of five geographically dispersed teams. You will be reporting to the Head of Regional Outreach Services. Ideally you have completed a Special Education Post Graduate Diploma, but this is not essential. You will be located within the Capital region and we are open to you working in any of the following areas: Taranaki, Manawatū, Wellington Central, Wellington East, or Nelson/Marlborough.
