School Science Technician

Based in Albany, Kristin School is an independent, co-educational, non-denominational school with more than 1800 students from Early Learning to Year 13. We are seeking a hard-working team player to join our welcoming Science faculty and two experienced Science Technicians. Reporting to the Head of Faculty and Senior Science Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the practical and technical aspects of the science curriculum by preparing, maintaining, organising, managing, and distributing the resources required for a healthy, safe, and secure environment for practical experiments within the classroom. This includes the appropriate management, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials to comply with the HSWA 2015. Possibilities of progression to Lab Manager in the future for the right applicant.

The role is 20 hours per week, 4-5 hours per day, across Monday to Friday.

Important Skills | Nga Pūkenga Motuhake 

This role requires someone with experience within a laboratory and capable of being on their feet for much of the day. You will have:

  • Knowledge of hazardous substances
  • Passionate about health and safety procedures
  • Ability to work in a close-knit team environment
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Customer service and hard-working ethic
  • Sound computer literacy skills.
