Shirley Boys' High School is a single-sex school serving the eastern suburbs of Christchurch. Our purpose is to prepare rangatahi to succeed in their world through high-quality teaching focused on strong, positive relationships.

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic teacher to establish and lead our new Robotics and Mechatronics program. As this is a brand-new subject for our kura, the successful applicant will shape its direction, initially focusing on Years 9–11.  To support the setup and introduction of this subject, the role will initially be provided with reduced teaching hours and one Management Unit while the curriculum is established.

Key Qualifications & Expectations:

• Strong understanding of the Technology curriculum.
• Ability to teach ICT or another supporting subject area.
• Passion for innovation and project-based learning.
• Commitment to contributing to the co-curricular and wider life of the school.
