Join a purpose-driven national organisation supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners across Aotearoa
Ko Taku Reo Deaf Education New Zealand is seeking a proactive and organised Team Administrator to join our Corporate Services Division, supporting our Communication & Resource Teams. This is a full-time, fixed-term (June 2025-July 2026) opportunity based in Tamaki Makaurau.
THE ROLE / TE MAHI
This is a varied and dynamic position providing key administrative support to the Communications and Resource functions across the organisation. You’ll help coordinate events, manage bookings and systems, support communications channels, and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
You’ll be the go-to person for helping our teams stay organised and on track – all while contributing to a culture that values equity, inclusion, and Deaf and Māori culture.

Key Responsibilities
- Frontline reception responsibilities
- Creating and approving purchase orders and reimbursement requests
- Coordinate and minute meetings, events, interpreter bookings and travel arrangements
- Support with formatting documents and communications
- Managing master inboxes and supporting requests for service where appropriate
- Managing/monitoring the event calendar and EOTC event calendar
- Support the co-ordination of full staff meetings, call back days and Prizegiving events
- Ensuring team stationery supplies are at an optimal level and coordinating orders
- Format documents and assist with internal communications
- Support the smooth delivery of staff events, newsletters, and resource logistics
ABOUT YOU / MŌ KOE
You’ll be someone who thrives in a team environment, loves variety, and takes initiative to get things done. You’re flexible, approachable, and detail-focused, with a strong ability to juggle multiple priorities.
Essential:
- 3–5 years' administration experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and confident using digital tools
- Experience managing events, travel, calendars and supplies
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn NZSL (New Zealand Sign Language)
Desirable:
- Experience in education, Deaf and Hard of Hearing services, or the not-for-profit sector
- Awareness of Deaf Culture and te ao Māori
- Familiarity with communication platforms or intranet management
