Ko Taku Reo Deaf Education NZ is a national organisation providing specialist education and support services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing children across New Zealand. It was established in July 2020 following the merger of two existing centres: Kelston Deaf Education Centre in Auckland and van Asch Deaf Education Centre in Christchurch.
You will be joining a bilingual, multi-locational team sharing passion and enthusiasm for delivering high quality educational resources to Deaf community and whanau. We welcome applicants who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing or are proficient in New Zealand Sign Language.
This is a permanent, full time role based from our Kelston site in Auckland. In this role you will use your skills to translate information between NZSL and written English. In doing so will help our community of students, teachers, staff and whānau.
You’re a great communicator, a team contributor, a video editor (or keen to learn!) and always on the hunt to improve yourself. Using these skills, you’ll be creating accessible information to support our people all over New Zealand.
IDEAL SKILLS YOU WILL HAVE
- Fluency in NZSL
- Good understanding of written English
- Translation experience
